  • These commercials were taped on July 17th, 1986. The TV spot for "Aliens" said "starts tomorrow", which would have been July 18th.

  • OMG im looking for that same commercial!! did you ever find it?

  • Does anyone have the Purina Dog Chow commercial with the Little Girl and the Golden Retriever named Casey? It showed the Puppy bounding up the stairs then at the end, could barely crawl up the stairs. That one made me cry.

  • a gallon?

  • Cool!!!

    I remember the Schweppes commercial!

Ah, memories of tv commercials........ of getting up off the couch and going to the kitchen or the bathroom. ...I still do that.

  • I could drink a gallon of A-1 right now.

  • hahaa these were awesome. didn't expect to see the Pocono Homes one, I live in the poconos. I heard of people traveling from here to the city but I didn't know it was that common back then.

  • haha really? did it have the bloody uncut steam roller scene?

  • The voice heard at the end of the "Maximum Overdrive" trailer was WOR's own Ted Mallie. NBC's Howard Reig, however, was heard at the end of the "Aliens" trailer, and Gene Edwards was the V/O at the end of the ad for Avenue I Flea Market. (Edwards was for years commercial spokesperson for the Merchants Bank of New York in ads heard overnights over 1010 WINS.)

  • Christ! I saw Maximum Overdrive in the theatre when it came out (I even had AC/DC soundtrack on tape). The best was the OB commercial...my boss' last name is O'Brien and he is a bit of a bloody tampon (and a short F to top it off) and a buddy of mine go around work singing this song. Can't wait to email it to him. That's federal law enforcement for you. yeah, we laugh too.
