This is a clip from the HBO pilot show called Lucky Louie, with Lewis C.K. On the eve of her fourth birthday, Louie's daughter Lucy starts asking a lot of whys, forcing him to explain why he has a lousy part-time job in a muffler shop (He was high all the time in school.)

I think if you watch his stand up, this isn't all that funny. His stand up is much better. But if you haven't seen his stand-up then this is probably hysterical.

I actually prefer this to the stand-up version I've seen - though I imagine it would be different with each telling, so I might find another version even funnier, who knows. I like that this is how he's actually responding, rather than just what's in his head.
