Ranjani is at the forefront of young Hindustani classical vocalists in the country. She is a disciple of Pt Kashinath Shankar Bodas, Smt Veena Sahasrabuddhe and Pt Ulhas Kashalkar.
Ranjani has won many awards and fellowships, prominent among them being the Central Government Scholarship for Hindustani Classical Music, Govt. of India for the period 1998-2000. In recognition of her talent she was awarded the coveted resident scholarship of the ITC-Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata from Aug. 2001 through Mar.2006. She is a B high graded artiste of All India Radio. She is empanelled as a performing artiste for ICCR. (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) She has performed widely in India and overseas. Noteworthy past performances include the 31st Chandigarh Sangeet Sammelan ;Vishnu Digambar Jayanti Samaroha, New Delhi in 2007; ITC Sangeet Sammelans in Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai ; Uttaradhikar Samaroha ; Sangeet Pratibha of Sangeet Natak Academy; Spirit of Youth festival of the Music Academy, Chennai; Nehru Centre, London; Learnquest Academy, Boston ; Dadar Matunga Cultural Centre, Mumbai and Arpan Festival, India Habitat Centre.
