Roger Whittaker - Albany 2009

doch ihren fairen Kampf sah keiner.

Ooh hoo hoo hoo Albany

Ooh hoo hoo hoo Albany
hoch in den Bergen von Norton Green

Literal translation:

Albany, highly in the mountains of Norton Green,
Albany, in your walls I was once at home,
Albany, castle of my fathers, which I loved,
oh, could I only see you once again.

Charles and Gordon were two brothers,
as children they sang the same songs
and hunted together in the woods.
But for brotherly love and friendship
One day was bitter enmity
when they found they both loved the same girl.

Albany, highly in the mountains of Norton Green,
Albany, in your walls I was once at home,
Albany, castle of my fathers, which I loved,
oh, could I only see you once again.

Ask for Albany, they will tell you:
Knock on every door, they won't be opened.

Charles and Gordon were two brothers,
they said one stabbed the other,
But nobody saw their fair fight.
Lile a murderer Gordon had to escape
None of McKenzie has forgiven him for ever,
Now he moves restlessly about, not finding peace.

Albany, highly in the mountains of Norton Green,
Albany, in your walls I was once at home,
Albany, castle of my fathers, which I loved,
oh, could I only see you once again.

Ooh hoo hoo hoo Albany
highly in the mountains of Norton Green,
Ooh Albany (in your walls I was once at home)
in your walls I was once at home
(castle of my fathers, which I loved,)
Ooh my Albany could I only see you once again.

Ooh hoo hoo hoo Albany
highly in the mountains of Norton Green
