I love the way the TV announcer says Stan Lane is an up and comer in wrestling. Announcers always said this about enhancement talent -- but in this case, the guy was right!
Wow, what a find!! I think Lane might'a jobbed at one other territory before this, but I might be mistaken... so little of this Amarillo stuff exists...
Good match, especially seeing Stan Lane in his early days. He would go to Florida, Georgia, Memphis as one half of The Fabulous Ones. He would reach his peak in The Midnight Express with Bobby Eaton when they won the NWA World Tag Team Championship from Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard.
if i'm not mistaken, this is the first territory that lane worked after being broken in by flair.. i've never seen any other amarillo footage from this period, this thing is so rare it bleeds when you play it.. thanks!
Dory Funk, Jr. was the NWA World's Heavyweight Champion on December 19, 1969.

How awesome to see good CLASSIC wrestling. Something that WWE & TNA have no clue how to do.

Uh, yeah, Stan was the man and Dory was just NWA champion of the world for 4 consecutive years. Good call, idiot.
