@TheFree2last1 I saw this film when I 12 or 13 on HBO. I'm 41 now and still watching it. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably the best 3 minutes in movies... Richard Gere's eyes, ans the haunting music. Awsome!

It was originally intended that Breathless end the same way A Bout De Souffle does, with Jesse being gunned down in the street by the police and Monica becoming hysterical over his death. But preview audiences were furious that Richard Gere died and the producers opted instead to end with the startling freeze-frame.

I didnt think he was killed in the end ? the girl went running to him, and she would have been to close to him for the cops to shoot. just my oppinion. I never saw the original. also we never knew if she was pregnant or not?

@usergently I liked it a lot better than the French version. (Of course that violates the rules...the French version is always supposed to be better.) Another example: "The Vanishing". The Hollywood version (by the same director) was better too. Conclusion? Think for yourself!
