The tibetan monks spent a week creating this Sand Mandala at the Mitsuo Aida museum in the International Forum building in Yurakucho, Tokyo, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Dalai Lama. Once the mandala was completed, after some prayers and the mask dance the mandala was swept up into a cask and then scattered on the Sumida river nearby.
