How to root a Samsung Galaxy S

Hello in this video i will show you how to root your samsung galaxy s
1) Download these files:http://depositfiles.com/files/12t6vu8nx

2) Go to settings and about phone make sure you baseband version ends in xxjvt, if not go watch this video to put android 2.3.6 on your phone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbVMIvrtYVk

3) if your phone ends in xxjvt then put your phone in download mode by pressing and holding the power key, volume down key and the middle button and set your phone aside once its in it

4) with your phone disconnected from your pc open Odin and make sure re-partition is unchecked, then click on pda and select the other file you have downloaded.

5) Now plug in your phone and once odin detects it click start, the whole process should take less then 30 seconds, your phone will reboot, once it does check your app list for super user, cwm and tweaks, if your list has these your phone has been successfully rooted and you can now install custom roms.

N 2nd thing I jst upgraded sgs  to 2.3.6 xxjvt. my phone is not showing the sim contacts when I click import....

@7462846 newer phones do not save contacts to the sim card anymore, most android phones will save your contacts to your google account so sign in with your google accound and they should be there, if not then let everyone you know that you need their number lol
