Brian Goulet compares the 5 most popular Clairefontaine Staplebound notebooks. He does a size and ruling comparison between the 5, as well as a writing comparison with his fountain pen to the staplebounds and a small Mead notebook.

  • Jenny, we have a multi-subject notebook (8 and 12 tabbed), but there's unfortunately no 3-subject Clairefontaine notebook, at least that's currently imported into the US.

  • Thanks for your comparison. I much prefer spiral bound notebooks, preferably at the top. You're always writing on a flat surface, even right out to the edge of the page, with no crease from a spine.

  • To each his own....that's why they make a variety! I actually don't sell many wirebounds at all....I don't know exactly why. I think because most FP users want easily storable journals, and the wirebounds don't stack well. Staplebounds and clothbounds are much better for that purpose.
