@MrBeyourself1987 If you believe about the trinity, where God is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, then you'll understand that when He decided to come to Earth as the Son in human flesh, God the Father was still up in Heaven and He was the one who raised Jesus up (or rather, raised Himself up) to show that He has power over death, i.e. the devil.

here's the thing. Jesus had to die a violent death. it even says He suffered, died, and was buried. He died for our sins and the cuts and gashes represented our sins. thats how much we need a Savior.
