Each year, the National Alliance on Metal Illness (NAMI) holds 3k NAMI Walks around the country to raise awareness and funds for mental health support services and to chip away at the stigma and ignorance surrounding mental illness in our society. As someone with dear relatives who live and have lived with mental illness, I formed a team and took part in the 2010 NAMI Walk held in San Diego's beautiful Balboa Park April 17.
Altogether, yesterday's NAMI Walk in San Diego featured more than 1,200 walkers who raised over $100,000. It was an inspiring gathering of wonderful people embracing life and coming together to positively address one its greatest challenges. I produced this short film about all the fun we had yesterday.
