If you look at old magazine/newspaper spreads and find old business cards from approximately the late 1960s-mid 1980s, you'll see some companies offer TELEX on their contact information and definately defined an era of communication.

I remember sending a telex from my Dad's office when I was six years old... it seemed like magic, but then it was 1979!
