In Edinburgh, they have a tradition, where the castle fires a cannon, at one o' clock. This was traditionally used to inform the ships at bay the time. The gun fires every day except Sunday at one. Why not noon as it would be better for ships? Because firing twelve rounds would be daftly expensive. So instead they fire one round at one in the afternoon. Cheers Scotland!
