  • I had no idea that John Berry ever did regular news! I always remember him as a 'slightly' portly weather man.

I understand he is a Chef these days.

  • Aw this gives me flashbacks :-> I wish I could find the sign off from the mid seventies, with Perry Como's Lord's Prayer, I loved that...

  • I remember Sunwapta Sam, haven't thought of him in decades!

  • wow, John was thin back then!

  • @Miradart I can remember when I was about nine or ten years old that he used to do the news. I can also remember Sunwapta Sam, the CFRN mascot!

  • I think the little character was called Sunwapta Sam

  • Good to see the little Indian guy again.

  • @roblau004 john berry never did the news with daphne little. He was weather. He did the early morning news on CFRN

  • Love the sign off , though I don't remember watching late night television in the '80s , except for the odd movie on CBC .

  • This newscast was from May 25, 1984, a few days after the Oilers ended the Islanders' Stanley Cup run. How do you pronounce CFRN's old owners' name? It's easier to pronounce 'CTV GlobeMedia' than 'RN's old owner's name! ;)

  • john berry was the anchor at six for several years with daphne little
