3D Animation of the components and genomic map of the Hepatitis C Virus. Quick rundown: The first part shows that the virus infects the liver. Then all of the virus' parts are labeled. The viral RNA is pulled out to show that it is transcribed to DNA, and then all of the nucleotides in the DNA are shown. The last part of the animation maps the regions of the RNA/DNA that encode for specific proteins, i.e. one segment codes for the envelope proteins, another for the core, etc.

  • The animation has something wrong in terms of HCV replication. The genome of HCV is a positive-sense single-stranded RNA that can be translated into the HCV viral proteins. There is no step involving reverse transcription into viral DNA. This is wrong! Instead a negative RNA strand is synthesized that serve as a template to reproduce a postive RNA strand. Integration of this positive-sense RNA strand and viral proteins results in mature form of HCV that buds off from the hepatocytes.

  • O_O IT BURNS!!!!

  • would you mind telling me the cause of hepatitis c? :)

  • Hepatitis C has met its match in A-VAg47.

NO SIDE EFFECTS and is a fraction of the cost of Peg Interferon treatments

    with a greater success rate.

  • @crabpk0 I posted an article on a very effective alternative (and inexpensive w/no side effects)

    on ezinearticles pen name stnick007.

Also search stnick777 youtube for video on Hepatitis C * A-VAg47 Takes on Hepatitis C *

  • HCV respods so well to hate and stress why not give it a dose of love and tolerance?

this decade alone I will go thtough 120 weeks of treatment " and loving it "

  • what? can you start all over again? xD

  • Hi, lucky are those who are cured. My story is that I had 3 attempts for interferon + ribazole, every time went from bad to worse; fatigue, low blood sugar went near to comma conditions. still suffering from fatigue + conditions. request experts to help me out. liver sonogram shows slight damage, but itching pain exists. Doctor told me not to take interferon, it reacts. I live in Pakistan and 54-yrs age, cannot afford expensive treatments. Wife already has liver cirrhosis; unstable condition

  • pues ami me gusto esta muy bien y ademas de que nos ayuda a entender mas sobre este virus.
