Hubblecast 29: Mission Accomplished - Healing Hubble.

The fifth and final mission to the iconic Hubble Space Telescope was a long time coming. After a delay in the fall of 2008, spring brought new hope and, on 11 May, the seven Space Shuttle crew members headed for the mission of a lifetime.

  • The same people who would rather have us back in the dark ages, believing that the earth is the centre of the universe and that evolution never occurred.

  • it makes me proud to be part of the human species to watch vids like this... keep it real Hubble.

How some people can't see that this randomness (e.g @ 4:00) as more amazing than religion is beyond me!?!

  • good job ...

  • Hubble came so very close to being all for naught. Had it not been in Earth orbit. Had not the flaw in the mirror been regular, allowing COSTAR to compensate... Hubble would have been nothing more than another useless bit of orbital debris. JWST's planned L2 orbit, while necessary, worries the hell out of me. Everything *must* go perfectly, No second chances with this one.

  • @XChillX42 SO FUCKING TRUE.

  • it's gonna be excelled by the new ones goin up there... they make hubble look like an ol BuiCk...>LOL

  • this life matters. that IS my point. it matters because this is the only one you get. heck, even if xtians are right, this is STILL the only life you get. why? because either you worship yhwh forever, or suffer w/o yhwh. this is the only chance we get to be who we truly are. live your life to your own satisfaction, or that will be your regret on your deathbed, THAT will be you hell.

  • the MEANING eludes us? how about the meaning of the word TRUTH? if you can't prove it, then please take your magic voodoo bullshit and stuff it. i think christians miss the meaning of life, value, community and all sorts of important ideas, but they are so deranged by their ridiculous religion that there is almost no way to have them recognise that THIS LIFE MATTERS!

  • Anybody know what's going to happen to the telescope after it's past it's use?. I realize that gettin it down could prove to be expensive, but it realy is a triumph of space exploration and general civilization progress so leaving it to drift would seem like a shame.
