A SPECIAL THANKS TO JADE GOTO! THE BEST FRIEND ON THE PLANET! HER SUPPORT WAS INVALUABLE!
Mental illnesses take many different forms and affects people in all countries and at all economic levels. About one in four people in Britain have a mental disorder. There is a great deal of controversy about what it is? Many people don't know how disabling this illness could be.
As a graphic designer I believe that art should be used as a tool to spread important messages around world. Therefore I decided to raise awareness about mental illnesses through my studies.
I created the OCD Magazine that represents modern approach to medical facts! Theories of Sigmund Fraud and NHS information are transformed into colorful collages and interactive layout that encourage young people to learn more about mental disorders.
With HSBC bursary I will spread the message in shops, bookstores and billboards across the city. I will use online resources to appeal to a wider audience. I already posted animation with information about mental disabilities. So far 300 people watched my video.
HSBC support will enable me to study Communication Art and Design. Through this course I will leave my mark by helping people with mental disorder and I will effectively launch a 'healthy mind' campaign by extraordinary use of art!
This video was created for HSBC Bursary Competition.
