At least one of the older versions of the creeds has a line about 'descended into hell'. There is at least one bible verse that mentions Jesus going to hell and taking captives... Well, it's amazing what some people will believe, isn't it?

Dante's Inferno also mentions it, the razing of Hell. It's an extremely cool idea, but it's just a story. Bill and Ted had a similar, but quite bogus, journey.

Yeah yeah, but, now you're just arguing about what you'd have done, or what would've logically be done. But a Christian might rightfully argue that the whole point of the exercise was for JesuGod to experience human death and pain, sort of develop a connection to these human creatures by shared experience, so yeah, I think that he'd have carried through with it! He's God, I mean, what's a little human-level pain to him, I'm sure at that level you have to deal with much worse!

I mean, it's practically a day at the picnic for a guy who has his own personal Hell? (By the way, why don't we have Jesus descend to Hell? All the Buddhas and Boddhisatvas did that, isn't that a bigger achievement than crucifiction?) The guy'd totalIy do it, mean for God it'd be like experimenting with neat drugs, yknow, or thrill seeking? So basically, I don't think it's a very good argument since it's very point-of-view based. Still, nice vid/response.
