Flying the Guru-Z fp at the park. First time I start to see what this little fp will do. It is pretty responsive, but even more stable than a stock FP. You can see it being pulled down by it's own wash, but the brushless motor has enough punch to pop at the last second! This FP is overkill, but way too much fun. Thanks to my wife for the camera work.

  • Its a hbfp with xeon frame, 8deg woodies, 3900kv bl motor, dd tail (gws w/ 4025) running a 1500mah 3s. when cotrolling rudder in hover or slow flight or no wind it is fine, but I am flying more extreme now and need more consistancy with the tail. had some close calls with a little wind where even full rudder barely corrected in time. pyros in little wind are either super slow or super fast. LOVE this heli but I might just be fiending for more. been waiting for the hk250

  • Yea, sounds like you are ready to move up. CP will handle wind way better than FP, and anything with a belt drive tail will be moving past the stick helis with a motor on the tail.

If you are not an experienced builder, be careful with the HKs. They are cheap, but you have to deal with some issues during build.

  • im at the point now where the tail is just not smooth, accurate, or strong enough to fly outside with a little wind. I find myself constantly fighting the tail, instead of flying the way I want. what is the cheapest way to convert to a belt tail? I have an HK 450 that i'm waitng for parts. did you use the whole boom from a 450?

  • What heli are you fighting the tail on?

The heli in this vid is a Guru-Z belt drive conversion kit. I got the kit from heli-fever, and added Esky and Xtreme fixed pitch parts.

  • are you running with a 2s or 3s? and what kinda of flight times are you getting?

  • I am using a Outrage XP20 3S1P 11.1V 1300mAH 20C. I usually limit the flight time t about 8 minutes, but I can push it to 10, but I don't like to drain the batts that much.

Keep an eye out, the next vid of the Guru-FP will have the Bell-Hiller mod installed, and a little longer main shaft. I also will be building a Guru-King2 in the next week or so.
