Why was Day Care still in business? TULSA Oklahoma A day care owner was undergoing anger management classes at the time a Two year named Joshua Minton, died in her care, according to Department of Human Services records obtained.

Vicki Leigh Chiles, 42, is charged with first-degree murder after the May 17 death of 2-year-old Joshua Minton and with felony child abuse in connection to an 8-year-old boy being struck with a flyswatter on April 10.
DHS had asked Chiles to voluntarily shutdown her daycare because of several previous allegations of child abuse.
Documents show Chiles refused to voluntarily cease operations because of money. In an April 13 licensing services document, Chiles wrote she would not voluntarily shut down because she needed to work.

Chiles told police she bound Joshua's hands May 17 and put tape over his mouth because he wouldn't be quiet during nap time at her home day-care center. She returned to the room Joshua was in to find him unconscious. He died later that night
George Johnson, DHS spokesman, said it took more than a month between the department's request for Chiles to voluntarily shut down and the emergency order because the agency was going through due process.
Johnson said DHS is limited in what it can release about a child-care center during an investigation but can disclose complaints against a day care if parents ask about a specific facility.

Roberts said the family will work to get state law changed.
DHS will find that their policies are not adequate and that Vicki Chiles' daycare should have been shut down years ago,That it not only shouldn't have been shut down long ago, Chiles has had her DHS license since 2002. Since then the agency says there were a minimum of three unannounced visits a year. During some of those visits they found safety violations, children that were not immunized, and at times, too many children and not enough caregivers, On two separate occasions DHS also investigated abuse allegations, but they were not substantiated, she probably should not have had a license to begin with.

you can not make a baby take a nap i have a 10 mouth old and a three yearold and 2 mouth old twins and its hard to get them all down but i would never do somthing l ike that are you gowing to sue them if so i can help

oh my gosh, this poor little boy. that horrible lady. wow. My heart goe sout to the parents, because i know that losing a son is so so hard on thtem. I lost my brother DEC2006 and my mom and dad still have a hard time seeing his picture without crying.

He was a gorgeous little boy.

Its disgusts me to think that Day Care workers are people you want to trust with your children. They show that they can be trusted then behind ur back they do something so horrible like this.
