"Just because the graphics are better doesn't mean the game is better" What could be better than Dig Dig on the Atari 7800 ProSystem? Dig Dug doesn't rely on fancy graphics or futuristic gameplay to be fun. It just is fun.

This awesome classic arcade smash hit from the 1980's is retro, old school video gaming at its finest. Dig Dug digs through the earth to get points, collect vegetables (and roots I think, like carrots) and kills bad guys with a bike pump. Dig Dug is such a great game it could be remade today for the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 video game consoles. You can also pick up a Dig Dug cartridge for the Atari 2600 VCS or get it with an original arcade stand up coin-op machine.

Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The HD series is reviewing PS3, Genesis, NES, Atari and Xbox 360. Xbox Live Arcade XBLA. Dig Dug was published by Namco.

  • I hope that Mark has learned the art of "juggling" enemies with the bike pump since this review was made. When you have multiple enemies, you can pump each enemy once, and then it is safe to move into a better position to finish pumping them until they explode. Mark kept dying in this review because he was only committing to one enemy at a time, which allowed other enemies to kill him.

  • @Pkmaxey Thats' because the 7800 uses the 2600's TIA chip for sound in 7800 games.. Yea, it was a bad move from Atari to do that.

  • @deadlygroove1

I didn't know if the 2600 controller worked for this game because it only has one button

  • @passiveMenis The Atari 2600, Sega Genesis and the Sega Master System controllers all have the same plug so they all work on the 7800.

  • @deadlygroove1

    for both?

  • @passiveMenis Yes and with a Sega Master System controller as well. :)

  • I always thought did dug gave the health nuts fast food to make them phat
