Thats pretty crazy... I saw something similar to that about 6 months back... I'm out in western Ft Lauderdale (Plantation area) and I saw 3 similar lights, equally spaced apart... They seems to be heading south, then drifted out west... If it was helicopters, they were dead silent... If it was planes... Well... There's no airports that way... sooooo... I'm out of guesses...

OMG yeah I just saw your comment damn. that is exactly what we saw here in Sweden O.o! They hover up and then dim a little and then they just disappear! We had like 30+ of them here and one would just sit there like it was waiting for them all to leave.

ddead as serious i was at my co workers house over the weekend after new year in hallandale beach and i remember walking to the store and looking up at the sky and seeing something flashing red shoot this white light beam at something bright like star and the thing just fell so fast and they red object was circling it moving backwards up and down in a manner that is nothing like an airplane or helicopter thanks within seconds just disappeared. i just kept telling myself it can't be real

I was in St. Augustine and I saw this too! I was fairly close, I wish I had a telescope that night! It looked like a bright red firework or flare that wasn't moving, and then it just faded out. I kept looking at that spot for a good 30 minutes, it was too strange not to.
