@TroyMccluresbreth The scrap yards know most copper is stolen. But they need to copper to keep their business going. Theyre not going to turn down someone just because its stolen.
what i'm wondering is why they accept seemingly new copper at the recycle locations. seems like it would throw up some flags if i was a worker at a plant and saw some guy bring in 3 brand new looking heat exchangers and a bunch of cut up copper, thats just my thought on it.
I remember over a year ago when I had to install a new A/C unit for a freind due to some lowlife idiot, ripped it apart for the parts and outside chassic and cut most of the copper pipe, had to installed new line and a new unit. Some crackheads did it for a couple of bucks for a unit that cost over $1000.
people who do this should be given free scrap lead in their scalps, or better yet have their hands sawed off. No scratch the last idea, we would then have to employ 2.3 government workers to make sure they got their check every month.
@CelticKraut
7 units will yeild about $130 in scrap copper.

They should just put up fences/ razor wire around the units. Security cameras won't undo any damages done, even if the thieves are caught.

simple fix for this i think is to lower those ridiculously high copper prices even with
war in middle east thay do not need to be that high it is a hide of this nation overreacting and it's costing us our a/c condensers
