From the website of Michael Cachuela:
Ratatouille Animatic
2002
An early version of a "continuous camera" opening sequence for Pixar's Ratatouille. An opening of the film under Jan Pinkava's direction and Harley Jessup's production design.
I storyboarded the sequence. Then built 3-D models, in After Effects, of Restaurant exterior, dining room and kitchen using hand drawn elements. Don't try this at home. I'm still shaking off the insanity of animating a 3 minute camera move in After Effects.
Fortunately, Louis Gonzales joined the effort and helped tie-down and finesse some of the end of the camera move.
