After some of Mexico's top anti-crime officials were killed last week [Tuesday, November 4th] in a horrific plane crash in the middle of Mexico City, Mexican President Felipe Calderon moved quickly to name a replacement.
A former Mexican lawmaker, Fernando Gomez-Mont, was named to be interior secretary at a time of escalating drug violence. More than 4,000 people have died this year in violence connected to criminal gangs amid Mr. Calderon's crackdown. As VOA's Greg Flakus reports from Houston that, despite some government success, experts also see danger for the United States as the violence across the border intensifies.
Perhaps the USA could control their weapons trade. All these grenades exploting in Mexico are manufactured by the USA. Another clear case of American hipocrisy.
