Andersen's commitment to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability is more than a trend or slogan. Our commitment goes back as far as Andersen itself more than 100 years. It is in our nature, our company culture, and every product we create.

  • I love woodworking..so I'm all for wood and forest sustainability. But lets be real Anderson might have an interest in enviromental conservation, but the amount of money they save is probably the reason they started doing all this. I also wonder if they use the pellets for heating thier shops?

  • Thank you for your comments. At Andersen we believe a key cornerstone to sustainability is using sound business practices, including careful use of all materials used in the manufacturing process. In addition, we pay close attention to minimizing waste and doing things right the first time, which eliminates waste from the start. The results of our efforts can be seen in the fact that 99% of the material coming into our plant is used beneficially in manufacturing our windows and doors.

  • Our proprietary, wood composite Fibrex® material was developed over 20 years ago as a way to effectively use wood waste from our manufacturing process. It is true that some wood waste in the form of sawdust is used to fire our state-of-the-art boiler facility to run our largest plant in Bayport, Minnesota, but this does not include Fibrex material pellets.

  • The Bayport plant has been in existence for 97 years on the shores of the pristine St. Croix River: a protected national scenic waterway. The Bayport boiler facility has won numerous awards from environmental groups including Minnesota Environmental Initiative (MEI) and EPA for its state-of-the-art design and innovative use of clean, renewable resources.

  • @AndersenWindow you guys are the best

  • As an employee of an Anderson owned company I have to say I think you forgot to mention or go into detail about another reason your practices are so important. If material is messed up or damaged by the machines or by mistakes we all make as humans, the material can be ground up(if it is wood) or sent back to be melted down again and reprocessed(If it is vinyl or metal). I would hate to work somewhere in which my mistakes or machine mistakes meant the material could never be used again.
