p.s. Tried them this morning. Delish. Love the coffee-flecked toasted coconut flavor. I found that cutting them into 12 pieces in an 8x8 pan worked well. I will wrap some and tuck them in a tin to keep at work for good snacking throughout my work week. Next batch I may add a few dried cranberries or dried blueberries. Thanks again for posting.
Heidi, I love this video. Your cookbook Super Natural Cooking is one of my faves and I love your blog. I'm so glad to see a fellow Bay Area food enthusiast here on You Tube. I appreciate your approach to cooking. So nice to see one of my fave getaways here, too. Looks like you had a nice time.
heidi, your trek and your sea side trysts and your bars ....all speak for each other of good health in body and mind... pray tell me what on earth is brown rice syrup? I live in Singapore..and if this is developed at home, tell me how. If it is boguht can't say it is available here...so can you suggest some substitute?
Great video! It is so pleasant and easy to listen to, love the music too. This recipe will help me keep my Kashi purchases under control! Have you ever tried adding dried cherries to your power bars?
Heidi- I really like this video. Morphic resonance --I have been making power bars with coconut oil and nuts as the base for the past few months, with a bit of a twist --they are free of grain and sugar.
It is so neat to hear the sound of your voice after seeing you on 101 Cookbooks for such a long time. I'm a big fan.
Elana, do you have a version of your sugar free bars on your site anywhere? I have quite a few people asking, and I'd be happy to send them your way. I'm using the sweetener as the binding agent, so I'm curious about your technique. Thanks in advance!

I posted my power bar recipe on my website.

It is sweetened with stevia and a dash of agave. I think it is the flax meal that binds it. Let me know what you think.
Thanks, Elana
