Petra, Jordan, has been named one of the new seven wonders of the world. The approach to the city taken by most tourists is down a narrow canyon (called the Siq). Although there are remains of old aqueducts along the side of the canyon and a number of carvings along the wall of the canyon, the first (and most well-known) "structure" that is encountered is the "treasury." The treasury is about 1-1/2 miles from the official entrance to Petra and it is at the end of a 1 mile walk down in the canyon. This video shows part of the walk in the narrow canyon as well as some comments by our guide, Jafar Ghazal, after our tour group reached the treasury. I have posted a series of 7 videos that cover my Egypt and Jordan tour. You can reach them most easily by doing a YouTube search with the following entry: Egypt-Jordan part 1 of 7 --- and after you've seen part 1, then replace "1" with "2" (and so forth) in the search box until you've seen all 7.
