@AdurianJ They gotta get with the times, lol. My instructor in my cinema class has the notion that you don't really need to film in HD for youtube or other video distributing websites, when in fact Youtube even supports upto 4k resolution.

first minute only matters if your using a pro cam for video websites why anyone would do that i dont know- overkill / showing off maybe, with pro cam 16 x 9 is the high est resolution setting but with normal cams like a hc 36 sony dv, the sq is the higher res setting and shooting on wide just cuts the screen down so u have less loss cause there was less in the first place so itll look more like the original 16 x 9 footage when put on the web
