A fan video I made for 'Hells Bells' by AC/DC using the live version of the song from the 1992 Epic Records release, 'AC/DC Live.' The video features footage and audio from the 1975 United Artists film, 'Rollerball.' The video shows Johnathan E (James Caan) scoring three points for the Houston Energy team. One against Madrid, one against Tokyo and one against New York. The set where all the games were filmed was built in the Olympic stadium in Munich.

  • you know how they started a campaign on facebook to get betty white back on tv?...how would one go about setting up a campaign page to start an actual rollerball league?...

  • @irish8110 I'd love to see it happen. I'd buy me some season tickets to that! ;-)

  • I'm trying to remember all of the cities, the obvious ones are Houston, Madrid, Tokyo and New York, Chicago is mentioned as the Food City, but that's where the easy part ends. There was a line in the movie about Pittsburg, as well as a line about a game in Rome, so that would cover all Six Corporations, but then you watch the extra features on the DVD and it shows the score board with HOU vs. PAR which suggests Paris so you end up with one too many cities. Either way awesome Vid!

Thanks! The original short story is pretty thin on detail, too. It's actually kind of amazing how much they changed or fleshed-out for the film. Some of the stuff could be adapted in very interesting ways for a modern film. Like the data loss thing. Computers in film back then were just a signifier for lost humanity, but the idea of data corruption or loss could be a nice theme now. And endless war evolving into sport is another nice theme, IMO.

  • A film ahead of its time..with music for all time!!

You know, I was actually looking at music from the period. I wanted something mid-70's to use, but I kept hearing this under it for some reason. I kept thinking it should be Humble Pie or T-Rex or Blue Öyster Cult or Hawkwind, but in the end I was like, "Well, they're kinda from that era, even if this track isn't..." ;-)

  • @irish8110 According to the directors commentary, the stuntmen played the game during down times of shooting...

  • Totally unreal! And the music was beyond, beyond perfect! Meshed totally. Fan forever of this clip. Thanks.

  • You have to wonder how many of us would gladly give up freedom, love, etc. in exchange for corporations to provide us all with comfort, security & material possesions.

  • @RRJackson A GREAT MOVIE...RATHER THAN WATCH THE GAME I WILL LIKE TO DO THAT "SPORT"....

  • actually pretty cool

  • Well done!

  • I bet Joey Styles (ECW) would love to do play-by-play on this sport. OH MY GOD!!!

  • @RRJackson You have to remember, The Movie takes place in the year 2018, so you could pretty much use AC/DC, Motorhead, Metallica, Saliva, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, etc (Certain Songs, of course, and it would work.)

  • nice job mate!
