Monica would have won this Aussie open like 7 times if not fir stabbing, the rebound ace was perfect for her game just like grass favored Graf heavily..

Again... I have the deepest respect for Seles, and I think she would have become one of the best ever. All I am saying is that I am quite certain Graf would have been able to provide more resistance in the following years. Seles may still have come out on top (in fact I believe she would have), but I think it would been a lot closer than it was in the early 90s thats all :)

@alin1975 Seles won with a girl's body. Don't underestimate that. Stevie had a Chris Crocker physique. The masculine women have an advantage. But Seles won looking like the girl on your grade-school kickball team. That shows amazing skill and grit.

In fairness to Graf, she was going through a slump in the early 90s with personal problems and stuff.
Dont get me wrong, I think Seles was absolutely amazing, but I think she would have met more competition from Graf in the coming years. In my opinion I think their rivalry would have evolved into something like Chris-Martina.

@haywood16 This video proves it. Seles was better than Graf when both were at their peak. Graf felt a stab of envy, like a knife in her neck, after this loss, I imagine.

Hi zimbostar ,Seles had actually won 7 of 8 Grand Slams she played before the stabbing.And she was just 19.
