How can we learn to realize the simple truth that we are all one, and that every time we are fighting an alleged enemy, ultimately we are fighting against ourselves?
What does it take to put this awareness into practice, and how can we learn that this world is big enough for all?
I just had an interesting experience at a local fast food restaurant, where a customer was complaining about the service he received. He was about to file a written complaint, but I stepped in as I was reminded how some people just project their inner turmoil and anger towards others, which ultimately lies at the root of our need to argue with and fight against others.
Every time we see the enemy outside of us we fail to regognize that the true enemy does not exist outside, but rather lies within.
The true enemy is ignorance, fear, attachment, greed, and a wrong sense of power (over others).
What are your thoughts?
