  • Dont we require the use of SQL server , full versoin to even have WSS installed and have it functioning properly?

  • @thebigbigdaddy No. You can use a full version but WSS comes with SQL Embedded Edition. You can also use SQL Express which is a free download. Thus you can install WSS with a version of SQL for free.

    Thanks

  • Nothing. There is a difference between 2003 and V3 but it is sometimes referred to as Sharepoint V3.0 and sometime Sharepoint 2007. Typically the free product (WSS) is referred to as 3.0 and the expensive product (MOSS) is called Sharepoint 2007. But basicaklly they are the same.

  • Lucidbs, you are correct about MOSS but WSS does support searching but not high level detailed searching that MOSS does (ie did u mean style searches). However, Microsoft is about to release Search Server Express which will add similiar functionality for free,

  • Hi,

What is the difference between sharepoint v3 and sharepoint 2007?
