Oliver the chimp is the commonest of common Central African Chimpanzee (Pan Troglodyte). The animal's teeth were 100% pulled and it was taught to walk upright by its early-on circus handlers--thus its odd appearance and behaviors. It hasn't walked upright in years. (according to Oliver's current owner at Primarily Primates). Oliver's current physical state is terrible. Racked with arthritis, blind, and barely amubulatory. It is time to put the poor ape out of its misery. Anthropomorphism amuck.
