The war on terror wouldn't be way over because its not a conventional war which Patton excelled at, its a counterinsurgency and intelligence conflict, applying conventional tactics to it makes no sense whatsoever. And yeah the fort hood shooter was an Islamist extremist, but he was motivated by opposition to the War in Iraq and Afghanistan conflict, do your reading
