I cannot believe there is a debate about whether or not this song is about Bettie Page! This is THE song about Bettie Page, ya' morons! It was featured in a documentary about her on PBS. BR5-49 gained their following on lower Broadway in Nashville, right down the street from where Bettie Page graduated from Hume Fogg High School. Listen to the lyrics - who the hell do you think the song is about?
