Not too many prime time comedy series manage to stay on the air for 14 years but this one did for over 14 years. Unfortunately, we'll probably never see a true comprehensive release of the series for the usual mucked up reasons - original prints lost, most prints were edited a great deal for syndication and what was cut out is lost forever, and many of the episodes our now in public domain. It's kind of tragic that such a large slice of American Television has been treated so tragically. This particular episode comes from an episode which is part of a 100 episode set released by Mill Creek which costs less than 20 bucks. That alone should tell you something. But you get what you pay for. Many of the episodes on this set are in awful condition, but I recommend it anyway because even at that its better than many of the other sets out there. Even the officially sanctioned set by the Nelson estate was filled with the edited versions of episodes whereas this set has more of the complete episodes than any of the others. Anyway, this is one of the Christmas episodes entitled The Christmas Tree lot whereas Rick and Dave encounter problems when they decide to sell Christmas trees in order to buy a gift for Ozzie. And when you figure the running time, I do believe this episode is complete and is in a lot better shape than many of the others.

  • No longer available? Please tell

me Ozzie got his present! ;0(

  • Hmm. Interesting. It played fine in my Google chrome browser but wouldn't play in either IE or Firefox. Could this be the begininning of the end of Christmas fellow 2008? Or is it just a glitch? We'll check tomorrow.

  • Then again, this episode is in public domain, so there shouldn't be a problem unless it's because of the musical number at the end.

  • Awesome episode! Love the end!

  • I loved both the fact that Ozzie picked up the guitar and played along with the two great lines at the end.'

Dave: Didn't you know he was the Ricky Nelson of his day.

    and Wally:

    After all it's Christmas.

    Gotta love it.

  • No more sitcoms like this anymore. The whole family could watch this together.Today they probably aren't even around together.Too many trashy situations and too many stupid sex jokes.I am also sick and tired of Viagra commercials.I used to watch Ozzie and Harriet as a kid in the fifties.Loved the ending to this one.
