Students at the Kentucky School for the Deaf are excited about technology education -- largely thanks to one special teacher. Jay Cloud is the third recipient of INSPIRE: Lexmark's Teaching Award.

Cloud teaches technology education by using closed-captioned video technology, smart boards and hands-on computer programs to visualize concepts for his students. He's been described as a teacher who puts his students first and helps them to become accomplished learners with relevant skills.

The INSPIRE award was created as part of Lexmark's 20th anniversary celebration to recognize middle and high school teachers across Central Kentucky for their outstanding contributions in STEM education. A $1,000 award will be granted to one teacher for each month of the academic year to be used for his/her classroom needs.
