Location:
The location of this hotel could not be better - a tranquil setting amid beautiful lush gardens on Zamalek Island in the River Nile. The city centre is situated in the immediate vicinity, while it is about 15 km to Cairo International Airport.

Facilities:
The main building was constructed in 1869 for European monarchs to view the opening of the Suez Canal. Amidst exotic gardens, two modern towers border the former royal palace and display the magical combination of traditional elegance and contemporary appointment, which this casino resort offers. The family-friendly establishment and the Omar Khayyam Casino deliver world-class hospitality and are the perfect places to relax, do business, and enjoy the service in an exquisite palatial setting. The main building and the two neighbouring buildings with 20 floors comprise a total of 1,250 rooms, of which 108 are suites. Facilities on offer in the air-conditioned buildings include a lobby area, a reception desk manned around the clock, a safe, two currency exchange desks, a cloakroom, 12 high-speed lifts, a newspaper stand, 20 shops, a hairdressing salon, a dining room, and 14 conference room. Guests are truly spoilt for choice in the culinary arena, with a total of 14 restaurants and bars available, some of which are open 24 hours a day. Amongst the variety of cafes, bars, and international restaurants, it is also possible to enjoy the liveliest Irish pub in Cairo. Rooms:
The luxuriously appointed rooms, including executive and corporate suites, have all been tastefully fitted to the highest international standards. A double or king-size bed, carpeting, either a balcony or terrace, and individually adjustable air conditioning are also provided in all accommodation units as standard.

Sports/Entertainment:
The Splash Health Club is open around the clock and offers a wide range of programmes promoting a healthy lifestyle and a greater sense of well-being. The gymnasium houses fitness equipment and is supervised by qualified instructors. There is also a secluded heated swimming pool set amidst a palatial oasis as well as a children's pool, a poolside snack bar, and sun loungers and parasols laid out ready for use. It is further possible to take advantage of the spa offerings, including a sauna, a solarium, or massage treatments (charges apply). Guests may also relax in the Jacuzzi or play tennis on one of the three floodlit courts (charges apply).

Meals:
An extensive buffet breakfast is served in Omar's Café, which is famous for serving the best Friday brunch in town. In the evenings there is a buffet or à la carte menu on offer. It is possible to book bed and breakfast or a half-board stay.
