Here's a really good example of a song that gets used by both sides .At the time everybody knew this was a honest to god anti war song , no question about it . 20 or so years later when war and patriotism became popular again , all that's needed to rally the people around your cause is a good a patriotic song of course , cause there ain't nothin more patriotic than BORN IN THE USA, now is there. Wake up people.

Now the US has had idiotic rulings like Citizens United which literally make it possible for a president to be in the service of a few wealthy backers like the Koch brothers who simply keep writing checks to their Super-Pacs.
