right... so the air escaping is like venting a window or a door..... by pushing on the car (in some cases) will change the resonant frequency of the whole vehicle... making your peak frequency different....

i was in basic trunk if u saw my video it in celica trunk style. guy in my class hits 150.1 with 2000 watts on 2 audio que 15s in a intrepid for 4door much like yours.
amp only pushed out 1600 to 1700 watts subs firing the right of the car at 50 hrz. TL meter was on the left passenger windshield

were there people holding he trunk lid at 144.9... sometimes that can actually make it worse... most cases it helps but maybe it didnt... good vid man... termlab or audiocontrol
