Roger Daltrey of The Who, then promoting his second solo album Ride A Rock Horse, appeared on the children's TV program Wonderama Aug. 24, 1975. This is about a millionth generation but I cleaned it up the best I could and edited out the Tommy clip and music videos (you can find those elsewhere on YouTube in much better condition). Director Jeff Stein originally intended to use part of this as Roger's segment in the movie The Kids Are Alright but it was dropped to keep down the length of the film.

  • Watched this one.

  • Hey Brian,

I came across this by looking up WHT, a movie channel here in NY back in the early 80s. I watched Wonderama (with Bob McAllilster...this host) every Saturday morning. Thanks for the clip.

    See ya,

  • There were other well known performers and personalities that appeared on"Wonderama"over the years..sadly. There aren't alot of videotape and kinnie film clips of those guests..who appeared on the show..and there are very few clips with Herb Sheldon,Sonny Fox and Bob McAllister..the show's hosts.

  • @liz326522 he was drooling

  • I think he toned down the crotch 'buldgage' for the children's show interview

  • I went to the taping of this show. I was 12 and a big fan of the Who. When I got there and heard that Roger Daltrey was to be a guest, I was very excited, but his segment turned out to be taped. A let down, though I did get to meet Marvin Hamlisch, there in the flesh.

  • I think Bob Mcallister just fell in love...

  • If he isn't the epitome of what a rock star should look like, then I don't know what is... he's gorgeous!

  • kids shows in the 70's were hip enough to put on the big stars not just the flavor of the week teen sensations or little kids singing the top current songs by the big stars

  • so cool seeing this. i always watched this show as a kid.
