Here is a video I made driving my New Yorker on a fall evening in October of 2008. Just got around to uploading it.

Upon depressing the gas pedal to the floor, first gear rides out until 53 mph, it shifts, second rides out until 94 mph, it shifts into third. I have not taken it beyond 100, lots of throttle left though, even with the weight of this car!

  • I'm sorry, but I find the aftermarket speakers in the dash to be a bit, well, aftermarket. Shifting from 2nd to 3rd is amazing.

  • @Thunderchicken1997 Tell me about it! The previous owner mutilated the dash and installed those atrocities. :/ I have sold the car now anyhow. Got a 73 Dart Sport now.

  • im 13 and my step dad is giveing me his 4 door 75 chrysler new yorker brougham around this summer

  • @JORDAUN23 Cool! That's ALOT of car for a young driver! If you master parking it, you will be able to park ANYTHING. XD Sounds like the trailer park boys car to me, if you haven't seen it, look it up, haha

  • @MHASSANF Oh, it goes much faster, but no point, as the speedometer only reads to 100, and the car floats down the road so smooth, it is hard to get a feel of the road at breakneck speed. With the 2.76 rear gear, and 1:1 final drive of the 3 speed torqueflite, this beast should be able to reach 130 before the rpms get too high. I guess the only way to know for sure would be to have a gps, and I do not have one, or get pulled over and ask the cop how fast I was going i guess.. XD

  • I had a 77 Chrysler Newport. Not as luxurious as this, but hands down, the best riding car I've ever owned. I loved looking down the hood, with all of those curves in it, and the turn signal lights on the edges. I liked how it had gauges AND warning lights for the gas, ammeter, and temperature. It also handled well for a large car. I never had any trouble parking it, despite its size, because you could easily tell where the four corners of the car were- i.e. visibility was good.

  • I had a beautiful '73 Brougham with around 75K, 440 and duals. I drove it from the FAR north 'burbs of Chicago to Terre Haute, Indiana on about 3/4 tank of gas, raining all the way and the A/C running. I figure the car was getting about 22 - 23 MPG; not too bad for a land yacht. I loved that car; smooth, quiet and the 440 still had plenty of power. This was a pre-convertor engine. I still have the original AM/FM Stereo radio and it works perfectly.

  • Cool! When can we see videos of the Dart?

  • @raydonato42276 It would probably run out of gearing around 130-135mph. Just a guess.

  • Id suck your cock at full throttle if you arent afraid of the speed

  • @redheadbabygurl23 its hard to believe to some
