  • Sorry, I am not accusing you of killing that fish, but the eyes on fish after being dead look straight out level, while on live fish they point down, like on every other fish in your video...you took great care with the fish in that video, and I can't understand the way the eyes look in that last one. I truly belive that you released every fish with care! Amazing video!

  • @primtimeguide No worries, I was just curious as to why that fish appeared dead to you. Interesting point on the eye levels. Thanks for the comments, cheers!

  • The eyes on that last fish say dead to me...super video though!

  • @primtimeguide Really? How so? I can assure you that I don't hold dead fish up to the camera, nor did I kill any fish in NZ. Thanks for checking out the video

  • fantastic video mate, really well done, especially considering your on your own, were you down around te anau, eglington river region ? what time of year were you there ? late summer id say ? cheers brett

  • @gunfisher Thanks, it was definitely a trip of a lifetime and I can't wait to get back to NZ one day. I did fish around Te Anau and had a great day on the Eglington as well. However, this video consists of footage from around the entire country. I spent 2 weeks on the North island and 5 weeks on the South and was there during most of November and December. I imagine it looks a bit like late summer due to the lack of rain while I was there

  • cool vid

  • Some of those are as big as Steelhead!

  • incredible. must go

  • @TooLucky406 Thanks. I used a variety of bugs, nothing fancy really just some classics like Royal Wulffs, Pheasant Tails, shaggy hares ears, biot body stones, soft hackles, etc.. I think fly fishing in NZ is more about your approach and presentation in many situations, rather than an exact fly pattern, but you never really know
