Title and Annotations said it all. My handling of the camera is not entirely perfect, but shows it all.AMTK 203 East is leading Amtrak Empire Builder #8 blowing the Horn Hard for some trespassers near a bridge at East Monroe. At the time, the 2 trespassers were standing on the tracks. When the train cleared out, the 2 trespassers came back to the tracks with 3 other friends. Me and couple other citizens called Monroe PD and the Amtrak Engineer informed Seattle East DISP of what happened.

  • It's interesting reading some of the comments, it might not have been as close a call as we seem to have become accustomed to, but I know if I was that driver, I'd be pretty spooked by people wandering around the tracks like that, cause you just don't know what they're going to do.

  • Trespassing seriously? you should see my wall. uprr no trespassing.

  • Camerawork seemed fine to me...

  • Yikes ,, Scary and maddening. I ride round trip on the Empire Builder once or twice a year from Chicago. Those kids don't realize what a really BIG deal that is to be in the RR RoW at train time.

I live 200 feet from the tracks that I ride to Seattle here and there are suicides and stupid drivers more often than people think. Great sense of urgency and danger in this video.

  • @NWPhotographyDirect oh thanks

  • @csxES44DC No, he didn't apply the e-brakes, however, yes, he did apply the brakes, but he didn't stop. He just slowed down a bit.

  • Very hard core!

  • Great video! You should see the people down at Titlow Park in Tacoma, I counted 8 people on the tracks at once, there were a bunch of teanagers holding eachother down on the tracks(before any trains came thankfully). Then this guy took his girl friend down this cut in the hillside I over-heard them talking and she asked what if any trains came, and he said that he would be able to here it in the rails, it would have been a show it they had to jump into the blackbery bushes along the roadbed!
