Please note
We know the Labour Party was founded in name in 1906 but the Labour Representation Committee was founded in 1900
We know the 1916 government was a coalition rather than a Labour government proper, but nevertheless Labour MPs backed the troops suppressing the rising
We know Lenin probably had his own agenda but his analysis is worth quoting
We know Michael Foot and Tony Benn asked for the naval action to be halted, but nevertheless this was after they supported the Falklands war in the beginning as a means to undermine the Argentine junta dictatorship
We know that Kinnock was equivocal about the miners strikes in 1985 but nevertheless supported the conservative strike breaking
We know the points are selective but nevertheless represent only the tip of the iceberg (we haven't mentioned the Korean War for example)
