I don't like newt but that wasn't racist at all. He was simply implying that obama is not creating jobs therefore more people will be on welfare and food stamps.

David Gregory is right. The "food stamp President" comment was clearly invoked to appeal to ignorant whites who are lead by Republicans to think all the Democratic Party wants to do is steal white money and give it to lazy blacks. This has been a consistent political play by the Republicans since Nixon's racist "Strategy for the South"
