  • Impossible to believe. Most sword fights would end in less then 15 seconds. Ask any fensing masters.

  • @vkorchnoifan

Actually not, at least not for me. It is said, Samurai duels last even less than 15 sec. One strike, One kill.

  • I like this because now you always hear music with fight scenes and they never make real sounds for punches or anything. This sounds like it is real. The funny think is my friend fences and he said a real fencing match or whatever you call it takes a few seconds. It is only a couple of moves long before you win or lose. Still very great though. I want to see this now. I went from looking at Hitler for World History to this. Actually closely related if you have time. I love the internet hahaha.

Your friend might be right... i for one am no expert in fencing.

However, if you want to watch another great movie fencing scene:

    Mark of Zorro

It might be closer to reality...

    Uhm, you live in Germany?

  • the good times when men ruled the world

  • @vkorchnoifan My personal motto: "Lighten up; it's a MOVIE."

  • Even though I'm an Errol fan, this is the best choreographed swordplay scene in movie history. The lack of a musical accompaniment seems to make the duel sequence more vivid, with only the clashing of swords and gasps from the audience augmenting to the action.

  • I waited all through this great film, to see this great sword fight. And it didn't let me down Love it!

  • @deusirae76 how about " la tulipe noire" ( black tulip ) with Alain Delon?.

  • Think how long it must have taken to choreograph this fight. No camera tricks and stunt doubles like today's films.

  • @vkorchnoifan Yeah off course, but then we wouldn't have this great movie, wouldn't we ?
