  • Wow, what year was this? Why was this version not released? Any more info on the track? Thanks for posting!

  • @ANGELSVEN : Hi ! It's a track from "through the years, vol. three, 1972/75"

The track "Four Sticks" is follow "Friends"

And... For the not released ? Sound quality maybe (?)

  • Wow..id always heard about the couple of tracks they recorded in india (i think the other is 4 sticks) with Indian musicians, but never knew that they actually had leaked out...muchas gracias for posting this!

  • Brilliant! Obviously experimenting with 'eastern' rhythms from an early time. This work evolved to the middle eastern rhythms we get on 'Friends' (live) on the Plant Page album 'No Quarter'.

  • Woah! I'm back in India, baby!

  • Damn... what bands now goto India and get the Bombay Symphony Orchestra to help them out?!

They did a great job on this with the London Philharmonic & an Egyptian Ensemble for the MTV unplugged back in 94

  • ...this is BIG! Thank you for uploading! Massive!

  • @ANGELSVEN The song was re-recorded by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant with the Bombay Symphony Orchestra in 1972, during their trip to India, along with another track, "Four Sticks" from Led Zeppelin IV.This version featured tabla drums and sitars. The recordings have never been released officially and are only available on bootlegs.

  • Sounds so very Beatles.

  • thank you for sharing this!

  • this is a beautiful variation. i would save it to my computer if it didn't have that high pitched drum beating constantly. piercing is the word that comes to mind when i hear it, like a half drum half cowbell
