American Eagle, flight 3092 arriving at Los Angeles Int'l, onboard an Embraer ERJ 140, filmed from seat 14C, coming in from San Diego.

This was a short flight, about 45 minutes. I begin with some aerial views of Catalina Island, Newport Beach/Balboa Peninsula, John Wayne Airport, Disneyland Resort, and Knotts Berry Farm.

I noticed the ILS was captured roughly just west of the 110 FWY. Long flare because the American Eagle terminal is on the west end of the airport, which uses a bus to ferry passangers to the main terminal.

Check out the female ground crew, she tried to hide from me when she saw me! LOL!

  • how long was the flight and why whould you go from san dieago to la to short i would drive

  • San Diego wasn't my final destination, it was a layover. Besides, my car was waiting for me at LAX!

  • How many flight attendants were there? I assume one.

  • Just one, and only water is served on this flight...

  • Less than that cuz we didn't climb very high and the descent was quick. Also it was a very "slow" flight, indicating we were below 10,000ft because of the 250kts speed limit for aircraft below 10,000ft!

  • I'm going to LA for my thanksgiving break. I think it's the place I've flown to the most mainly because i have a huge chunk of relatives out there.

  • @BoeingGuru The FAA issued Advisory Circular 90-32 “Air traffic control and general operations, radar capabilities and limitations” after the 09 March 1967 collision of a DC-9 and a Beechcraft 55 over southwest Ohio. It limited the speed of aircraft below 10,000ft MSL to 250KIAS. Specifically, refer to FAR §91.117 and try to be a bit more polite, everyone.

  • I'd take this flight just for the sightseeing opportunities, seems like you get some great views of the L.A. Basin.

Plus, depending on the time of day, the drive from San Diego to Los Angeles coult take up to four hours, so this is a much more relaxing way to go.

    Great video!.

  • @TheAirplane1987 Actually, a flight from Orange County to San Jose would be 40 minutes. A flight from San Diego would be about 52 minutes. I would actually say, the flight is about 20 minutes.

  • yea that's true. from San Jose to San Diego is 40 minutes, how can that be 45?

  • I don't mean to correct you, but how can a flight between Los Angeles and San Diego be 45 minutes long. To me, it seems a lot shorter than 45 minutes.

  • I've been to Catalina Island. It's pretty cool :-)
